Worst Surprise EVER

I got an email from a professor of class I NEED to graduate that said the final I turned in to him on Tuesday morning was not what he requested and I have until Sunday to fix it. Not sure if we will have internet or not; so here's to hoping I pass. Glad he could let me know 12 hours before I am set to move.

In other news we are headed to Tok in T minus 1 hour!

Don't drink the water...there's blood in the water

Okay, it's not really blood but an over abundance of fluoride. I wish I were kidding. We didn't have drinking water on post for 2 days, it was crazy!

Tomorrow starts our trip officially! We leave here and are going to Tok, Alaska. We just finished up our travel plans by booking our hotel in Forks and in Portland...I'm so freaking excited!

I also submitted all my school work so that is officially done. Well, I am quite exhausted but wanted to give a quick update so my adoring fans wouldn't miss me; not sure if we will have Internet in Tok but I'll give an update ASAP!

2x Tuesday!

Yay for Tuesday, I think :)

Today has been the day of pizza, and if there is one thing MalibuBarbie loves it's pizza! I had lunch with Tresha at Costco...I know classy ;) and I got to meet her finance--he gets my MalibuBarbie seal of approval for sure! Then MalibuKen and I ordered the 2x Tuesday deal at PapaJohns and have enough pizza to last us the rest of the week, woot! MalibuKPP also ate 2 entire slices.

I spent literally most of my day at UAA. I took 2 finals, and turned in my data analysis report. I am officially 3 questions away from being done with school for this semester...totally stoked! XD Although I did say my goodbyes today to faculty, staff and friends. It was incredibly sad, but I surprisingly didn't cry!

I'm loving where we are staying, it's such a nice hotel complete with breakfast in the morning which is always a plus. The downside is they do play reverie at like 6am...ugh!



I am working on figuring out where we are going to stay in Forks and Portland right now, hopefully I will have that done before we leave on Friday.

Tomorrow at 9:30 Sadie gets taken to the place in order to be shipped, Imma miss my girl!

Gotta love a place called Humpy's

Today MalibuKen took MalibuKaeden for me while I had lunch with two of my girl friends it was awfully wonderful! We went to Humpy's and had beer and carrot cake and burgers and it was fantastmic :)

The family moved into our new hotel where we will stay until Friday morning, in which our actual trek will begin.

Today went by way too quickly. I can't believe this was our last weekend here. I'm glad we were able to spend so much time with our friends.

We didn't have a kitchen in this hotel like we had originally thought so I am in need of dinner ideas for a mini fridge and microwave. I have a feeling I'm going to be DYING for a homecooked meal by the time I ever get in our next house.

I don't have too much left for school but it looks a lil' something like this:

I know that once I get all this done I will feel so much better and probably start to get super excited about actually leaving, as for now I just have that looming feeling in my chest.

It has begun....

Yesterday MalibuKen finished cleaning the house up and met the buyer to hand over the keys. I can't say I'm too happy about that, but more later...I'm about to tell a juicy story!

So...about 1pm I called the hotel we were supposed to be staying at for 2 days to see what time we could check in. The promptly informed me that "someone" had called and cancelled our reservation on the 8th (which is when MalibuKen actually made the reservations), and they had no room for us those nights. MalibuKen went all MalibuChuckNorris on their asses and all the did was cry. So we thought we would call the hotel that we are staying in Sunday-Friday to see if we could just get an extra 2 days tacked on, but as we were calling the lady next to our representative was booking their last room....you've got to be FREAKING kidding me!?!?!

So our $25/day hotel turned in much more expensive, but results in us staying in Eagle River a couple more days...so all in all not a bad trade off. I can't wait to post pictures of where we are staying; it is the sketchiest looking place on earth, but not so bad on the inside. Even funnier is I can literally take a picture of our *old* neighborhood from here.

So last night was fun, we went with the Hawkins family to Pizza Man :) YUM! 4 pitchers of beer later....we walked back home/hotel...like I said FUN. Becky and Joey bought us awesome tie die shirts from pizza man and signed them with marker, hopefully I'll have pics of that up soon too -- way cute!

However, when we walked back to their house I saw the new owner moving into our house. I was so territorial, I mean what is she doing in MY house. Oh, wait, I guess it's not "my" house anymore and hasn't been for about 3 weeks. I'm happy that we found a buyer so soon, don't get me wrong just wish that I hadn't had to see her move in. MalibuKen on the other hand just thinks "Good riddance, house!"

So on the agenda today includes, me having lunch with some girlfriends at Humpy's, and then I think we are having dinner with the Hawkins at their house.

Right now the MalibuLaptop is having a really hard time charging and we are working hard to fix this issue as both MalibuKen and MalibuBarbie are complete nerds and NEED the internet.

Happy 8th birthday MalibuFenris!

It's Tuesday, and MalibuFenris' birthday at that. My big boy puppy is 8 years old which means he transitions into being a "senior" poo boo.

Time flies when you are having fun, or have a lot of stuff to keep you busy.

I have worked on a lot of school work lately. I don't have too much left to do in that arena. I have my Justice and Soceity final, my Development of Law final, half of my Psychology final, my court report, Psych homework, Justice organization final and quiz, and my 8-10 page paper on my research findings. Like I said...not bad!

We move out of the house on Friday, and so far MalibuKen has done an outstanding job on getting the house cleaned.

I'm exhausted, I can't believe we move in 10 days. In just 10 short days I'll be leaving Alaska. Crazy. On one hand I'm ready for it and on the other I'm like really, so soon??

What a busy weekend!

This has been such an amazing, hectic, fun, stressful, busy weekend!

We had Haley and Matt's wedding on Friday it was so much fun! MalibuKaeden walked down the isle so perfectly and was so well behaved, I couldn't have asked for a better child! The whole day is kind of a blur, so I'm glad that MalibuKen was the photographer and able to get over 7oo photos. Now he has the wonderfully fun job of editing and enhancing, so if there are any photo shop lovers who want to get there hands on some of these pics and help, please please do!


We also spent the entire day Thursday, MalibuKen spent some Friday, Saturday and into today working on packing up the house. I am relieved to tell you it is 100% packed up and will be picked up either tomorrow or Tuesday. Crazy. I move to California in less than 2 weeks, I just can't believe it.

What a boring blog, I can't think of anything to write. I think it's because I just got done writing my 6 page paper for Justice Organization and Management, what what?! A whole week early too! Okay, so trying to get ahead of school so that I can enjoy the last of my days in Alaska. Here are some pics from this weekend as I know that's all I care about anyway...

Snow, snow, snow. I'm not kidding. Yesterday it was 50 today it's snowing. Enough about that, it's only adding to the stress. I'm only here to vent and bitch and make a list so I don't take it out on MalibuKen. The moving truck comes tomorrow, yes tomorrow.

Today was a good day. I spent from about 9-4 working on awesome research, it makes for a long day but the nerd that lives inside my brain loves it! I pulled into the neighborhood just in time to see Becky and the kiddos and they invited us to Pizza Man. Since I've been slacking on my grocery shopping duties the Malibu family quickly accepted invitation. So we go to Pizza Man for the first time in 3 years, this place is within walking distance why have we never gone before?!? I walk in and Becky and Joey have the largest beers I have ever seen, I instantly realize I'm in heaven. Something must have happened in the half mile from my house to this mecca of awesomeness. We had dinner and it was fun, I seriously love my neighbors it will be sad to leave them. Hopefully, I won't cry. I did almost shed a tear after MalibuKaeden asked Gabe if he would come to his birthday party and Gabe got really excited to come; then Malibu Kaeden told him he had to get on a boat and then get in a truck and drive to California...used to we just walked next door. :( Bittersweet moving is. Hope you love my amazing pictures that not only prove I had an amazing beer but that I have friends too :)

T minus 7 days!

Well, in 7 days the moving truck will be here for us to load all the things that won't be coming with us on our journey down south!

MalibuKen and I worked out our projected itinerary last night and I'm loving it!!

It looks like April 30 we will drive Tok
May 1 we will drive from Tok to Haines Junction
May 2 we will drive from Hanies Junction to Haines
May 3 we board the ferry in the evening in Hanies
May 7 we get off the ferry in Bellingham, WA and we drive to FORKS!!
May 8 we drive from Forks, WA to Portland, OR to see my Jillybean!!
May 9 we drive from Portland to Redding, CA to see my big brother!!
May 10 we drive from Redding to SO CAL (final destination TBD)

First things first (I say this a lot, huh?) ANYWAY First things first....

FORKS!! Freaking FORKS, WASHINGTON! I am so flippin' excited! I'm a sucker for teen angst in a cheesy written vampire novel what can I say. Other than thank you MalibuKen for making my dreams come true. I am not so sure we are sleeping in Forks though may end up driving to Lake Quinault and staying there, who knows...who cares...I'll be on a vampire high!!

Okay, next order of bid'ness...ohhh I sounded like RapperBarbie there. I have been "friends" with Jilly for about 4 years now. Our MalibuKaeden and her son share the same birthday. I put "friends" in quotes because we've never met in person, we are online friends. But good friends none the less damn it! Hopefully we will be staging an excellent meet up and she doesn't find out how nerdy I am in real life and hate me :) (However that is highly illogical)

The next day we drive to Redding, CA to meet up with my big brother Cheyne. I can't call him MalibuCheyne because he's not technically my brother, however he is from California and lives there. See how this works, I make up who is and isn't Malibu. ANYWAY... Cheyne and MalibuKen (when I type this I feel like I'm cheating on my husband because his name isn't Ken--awkward) were stationed at our first base together and Cheyne was a groomsmen in the Barbie/Ken wedding. Either way he protected me when people were stalkers at my work and in turn I fed him food he loved, which if he loved my cooking 7 years ago he'd die now! So yeah, I haven't seen him in a very long time, about 6 years I'd say so it's going to be a great reunion.

From Redding we are driving to either Edwards (our final destination) or to Los Angeles to get Sadie (MalibuBarbie's car).

I'm tired. I wasted all my excitement talking about vampires, imaginary friends and non blood related brothers.

Holy earthquake Batman!

You know the one thing Alaska has on Texas is size, if there is one thing that Alaska has on California...it's earthquakes! We had a 4.9 this morning. I didn't feel it, I was driving...bummer!

Yesterday, we woke up to snow. MalibuBarbie was NOT happy! It's supposed to be spring! I'm sure mid July in California I'll be begging for snow, but for now I'm not happy.

For now I need to do some logistics stuff that will be boring to most, but it must be done as it's one of the best things I do; make a list.

First things first

Confession Time!

I'm not from Malibu, I don't live in Malibu, and I've never even been to Malibu. I'm also not blonde or anything "Barbie" like for what it's worth.

I am however moving to California in just 25 days. My husband, 3 year old son and our 2 dogs are making the trek from Alaska down to Edwards AFB in the Lancaster/Palmdale area. I had a blog that my family and friends were able to follow when we moved up here just 3 years ago, so I felt it only appropriate to do the same this time.
